Instructions for Authors

We welcome original research, reviews, and technical notes that advance the field of membrane science and technology. Please follow these instructions carefully to ensure a smooth submission and review process.

1. Manuscript Submission

  • Submission System: Manuscripts must be submitted online through our manuscript submission system. Please create an account or log in to submit your manuscript.
  • File Formats: Submit your manuscript as a single PDF file for initial review. Upon acceptance, final files should be provided in Word (.doc/.docx) or LaTeX format.

2. Manuscript Preparation

  • General Guidelines:

    • Language: Manuscripts must be written in English. Non-native speakers are encouraged to have their manuscripts professionally edited before submission.
    • Length: There are no strict limits on manuscript length, but concise and clear writing is encouraged. Review articles should typically be between 6,000 and 10,000 words.
    • Font and Spacing: Use a standard font (e.g., Times New Roman, 12-point) and double-spaced text.
  • Structure:

    • Title Page: Include a concise and informative title, the names of all authors with affiliations, corresponding author’s contact details, and any acknowledgments or conflicts of interest.
    • Abstract: Provide a structured abstract of 150-250 words summarizing the background, methods, results, and conclusions of the study.
    • Keywords: List 4-6 keywords that are relevant to your manuscript.
    • Introduction: Outline the background, objectives, and significance of the research.
    • Materials and Methods: Describe the experimental procedures, materials used, and methodologies in sufficient detail to allow replication of the work.
    • Results: Present findings clearly and objectively, using tables, figures, and graphs where appropriate.
    • Discussion: Interpret the results, discuss implications, and relate findings to existing literature. Address limitations and potential future work.
    • Conclusion: Summarize key findings and their significance.
    • Acknowledgments: Recognize individuals or organizations that contributed to the work but are not listed as authors.
    • References: Cite all references using the journal’s preferred citation style. References should be up-to-date and relevant.
  • Figures and Tables:

    • Resolution: Ensure figures and images are of high resolution (300 dpi or higher).
    • Captions: Provide detailed captions for all figures and tables. Place captions at the end of the manuscript.
    • Placement: Indicate the approximate placement of figures and tables within the text.

3. Ethical Considerations

  • Plagiarism: Manuscripts must be original and not under consideration elsewhere. Plagiarism will result in rejection and may be reported.
  • Human and Animal Rights: Research involving human or animal subjects must comply with ethical standards and include appropriate approvals and statements.
  • Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest related to the research.

4. Peer Review Process

  • Initial Screening: Manuscripts will undergo an initial review to assess suitability for the journal.
  • Peer Review: Accepted manuscripts will be sent for peer review by experts in the field. Authors may be asked to revise and resubmit their manuscripts based on reviewer feedback.
  • Revisions: Address all reviewer comments thoroughly and resubmit the revised manuscript promptly. Include a response to reviewers’ comments.

  • Open Access: The Membrane Technology Journal is an open-access journal. Publication charges may apply. Detailed information about fees will be provided upon acceptance.
